FAQs

How does better baby sleep help me — the mother — recover postpartum?

This is one of the most important connections we make at Matriline Studio — and one that is almost never talked about in conventional postpartum care. Sleep is the most powerful healing tool the human body has. When your baby sleeps in longer, more predictable stretches, you get more consolidated rest — and that rest directly impacts your hormonal recovery, your milk supply, your emotional wellbeing, your cortisol levels, and your body's ability to repair the physical changes of pregnancy and birth. Postpartum healing cannot happen properly on four broken hours of sleep. Better baby sleep is not just about the baby. It is one of the most significant things we can do to support your recovery. This is why sleep consultation is a natural and essential part of what we offer at Matriline Studio.

Am I too late to belly bind if I’m x-number of months/years postpartum?

You're not too late! Many of my clients start belly binding at 4 months or even 1 year postpartum and still see meaningful results—like better core support, posture, and a renewed sense of alignment. While results vary, it’s never too late to care for your body and feel supported again..

How effective is belly binding?

Many mothers report feeling and seeing results within 4–7 days of consistent use. For best results, binding during the first 6 months postpartum is ideal—this is when the hormone Relaxin is still active in the body, naturally helping ligaments and muscles realign more effectively.

Can I still belly bind if I have a C-section?

Yes, you can. We typically begin around 4–6 weeks postpartum, depending on how your body is healing. It’s especially effective within the first three months to support recovery and comfort.
